RSA, a leading provider of insurance services in the region, has won a record three accolades at this year’s MENA IR Insurance Awards. Building on its over 300-years of global heritage and over six decades of experience locally, RSA was crowned ‘Overall Insurer of the Year’ for its successful track-record in performance and customer service over the past year.
The annual MENA IR Insurance Awards recognize and reward regional insurers, reinsurers and brokers that have led the market over the past 12 months. Further reflective of RSA’s success, in addition to winning the ceremony’s most coveted prize, it was also recognized for its suite of market-leading products for its business and individual customers in the UAE with awards for ‘Personal Lines Insurer of the Year’ and ‘Commercial Lines Insurer of the Year’.

Over the past year, RSA has introduced a range of new propositions in the UAE, in addition to building on its suite of existing services. It enhanced its motor insurance offering by becoming the first insurer in the country to introduce an innovative taxi fare cover, and increase limits on its policy. RSA also partnered with Now Health to launch an extensive suite of health insurance services for affluent and HNWIs in the UAE. In order to increase access to these and its other services, the insurer has established distribution partnerships with leading entities across the UAE. RSA is also the first insurance company to launch an exclusive loyalty programme named RSA Royalty.
RSA’s scale and profitability make it one of the most consistently performing insurance groups in the region. RSA’s Middle East operations have not only weathered the heavy cross-winds of the oil crisis, but have also dealt with nearly two years of uncertainty when RSA’s emerging market businesses were under business review. Despite the double impact, RSA has maintained its share in the region by retaining more than 90% of customers from its top 100. The growth for RSA has come on the back of new strategic partnerships in all markets and meticulous operational efficiencies. RSA has delivered positive returns in times when many competitors were facing tough challenges.
